Security forces officers received training in four blocks of instruction in the Security Forces Basic Officer Course at three locations in the San Antonio area.

The training consists of 78 training days in the security forces career field, legal considerations, security forces operations and base defense at Camp Bullis, Medina Annex and Lackland Air Force Base.

Officers in the grades of second lieutenant through lieutenant colonel attend the course, along with international students and foreign service officers, to obtain knowledge and skills they will need to perform duties as flight commanders in the security forces career field.
